Recently, I had the privilege of worshiping for a friend while she painted. She didn’t know it, but I had been asking God to give me the opportunity to do this. It may seem strange to you, but I truly enjoy sharing in a creative process with a person. The creative process led by Holy Spirit, where I sing prophetically as they paint prophetically. Each of use walking out the visions God places on our hearts in a beautiful partnership.
While doing this that day, I saw a circle of light come and surround her. Then God showed me that was His circle of protection. He showed me that no matter where she went and what she was doing, He had placed a steadfast circle of His protection around her. Even when battles raged and fear came knocking, He was still there surrounding her. A sacred circle that could not be broken or penetrated.
This is what He does for us.
I have often prayed for the circle of protection. I have prayed it around myself and my family. I know it’s there. Even though I can’t normally see it with my earthly eyes. I know it is there.
God has placed a circle of protection that is immovable. It is not dependent upon my obedience, only His faithfulness. He is the giver of protection. He is aware of my faults and shortcomings and has the mercy to hold me safe in His hands. He has the patience to not turn away from me when I fail. Instead, in those moments, I believe He holds me tighter. Reminding me of Who He is and who I am. He is a good Father.
His love is not dependent upon anything I do or do not do. This is truth. His love is not dependent upon me. He is love. He loves me. These are facts that cannot be changed.
My actions don’t control where He goes. He does. He is God, I am not. I can invite Him into a place. I can boldly go before Him knowing He won’t deny me His presence, but I never control it. He does.
Remember that. He is God, we are not.
Oh, what a mighty God we serve. Oh, what a Savior we follow. When days are long, and nights feel they will never end, You are unchanging. My unchanging Friend.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock in Whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:2-3
But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. Psalm 5:11
