Day 307: Laying Logic Aside (November 3)

I was struck with a thought, as with an arrow.  “Your logic is standing between you and God”.

I see many of us, myself included, letting our logical minds and expectations stand in between us and what we see God do.  We can’t see what we won’t wait for, or what we won’t allow to unfold.  Sometimes when God moves it’s going to look messy.  Some may even find it irreverent, but I propose that it is more irreverent for us to stand in opposition to a move of God simply because it doesn’t fit our narrative, or because it looks weird.

Who really cares what it looks like?  When I get to heaven I don’t want to see how much I missed because I was embarrassed to be undignified or because I thought it looked unusual.  Now, that would be grieving.

God is Healer.  He was yesterday, He still is today, and will be tomorrow.  Why?  Because He never changes.  He poured out Holy Spirit over all man.  He did it then, He does it now, and will always continue to do so.  Why?  Because He never changes.  We can’t logic our way out of it.

He is Who He is and doesn’t need any man’s approval.  He is.

Lord, forgive me for over-riding a move of You with my logic.  Forgive me for missed opportunities.  Lord, if You will restore those opportunities, I will obey.  I am asking You for redeeming opportunities.

Forgive me for anytime my actions have said, “No” to You.  I am so sorry.  Lord, move in me to follow You like a child.  With faith like a child let me be enthralled by Your Presence.  I don’t care what others say or think.  I don’t need anyone’s approval but Yours alone.  Lord, forgive me.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.  This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.  This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.  You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One Who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.  They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.  We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us.  This is how we recognize the Spirt of truth and the spirit of falsehood.  1 John 4:1-6
