Deeper Day 82: No Stone Left Unturned

As Chris and I have walked through this lengthy season of waiting, and as we’ve faced a lot of disappointment and times when it appeared things were about to change but then suddenly, they didn’t, we’ve left no stone unturned.  Chris has spent much of his “down time” developing new areas of expertise so that he will always have multiple places to make a living for our family.  I’ve been so proud watching him humble himself and pursue whatever he needs to in order to provide.

Never once, has he asked me to go out and find employment.  On the contrary, he’s encouraged me to take this time to shift my focus and pursue getting my first devotional published.  He’s also encouraged me in my worship leading and speaking.  It’s been incredibly freeing for him to give me freedom to find my new path.  Actually, what’s happening is, I’m finally moving down the path God has asked me to walk down for several years.  It’s so refreshing.

God’s ways are so mysterious, and often it is something that appears completely unrelated that begins to shift us into our purpose.  I never would have thought that being laid off would lead me into this.  I never thought I would find freedom in this struggle, but that’s exactly what I’ve discovered during this time.

We have left no stone unturned in our pursuit of “what’s next”, but not at the expense of ignoring God’s direction.  There have been multiple times when Chris could have gone out to get some other type of job, just to get by, but instead we’ve listened to the Father’s direction and pursued exactly what He leads us to pursue.  This can be challenging, but it’s always the way with the greatest reward.  I don’t ever want to be found on just any path, I want to be found on His path.

Prayer Moment:   God, teach me to walk the road less traveled.  Help me to never be so concerned with what other people think, that I walk away from You.  Only You know the way we should go.  Help me to rest in that every day.  Teach me to find abundance in every breath I breathe.  Let my life be filled with the fullness of Your Presence and the abundance of Your grace.  I will walk with You for all my days.  In Jesus name, Amen.

The path of the righteous is level; O upright One, You make the way of the righteous smooth.                    Isaiah 26:7

In that day- “Sing about a fruitful vineyard: I, the Lord, watch over it; I water it continually.  I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.  Isaiah 27:2-3

When God restores the fortunes of His people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!  Psalm 53:6b

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God.  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.  Psalm 42:1-2

For I am about to do something new.  See, I have already begun!  Do you not see it?  I will make a pathway through the wilderness.  I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.  Isaiah 43:19
