Deeper Day 109: Psalm 123

Today, I want to leave you with a Psalm.  This is one that I read over and over again.  It reminds me of so much.  I must always look to God, all the time and in any circumstances.  Also, He knows how we (Christians) are ridiculed by the spirit of arrogance and pride.  He sees and He knows, and He alone is going to defend us.

I lift up my eyes to You, to You Whose throne is in heaven.  As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of the maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till He shows us His mercy.  Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt.  We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant.  Psalm 123

The God of the universe is Who I look to at all times.  He alone is my strength and salvation.

Our God has good things planned for us.  He is our strength and our shield, our God in Whom we trust.  This is a moment, a special moment when we show the world that we truly believe what we “preach”.

If we truly believe God is our strength and our shield, then we will navigate this time with a solid certainty that He will continue to provide and be good to us.

If we truly believe He is our Prince of Peace, then we will walk in that peace and will even share it with others.

Now is the time to show the world what sets us apart.

We have a peace that surpasses understanding.  We have an immovable hope.  We walk by faith and not by sight.  And so much more.

It’s time to return to the basics and remember the foundation upon which our life with God is built.

Prayer Moment:  God, help me to remember Who You are.  Remind my heart every day, where my hope is found.  You are my hope.  Lord, if I find places within my foundation that feel weak, strengthen them.  You alone are my strength and my salvation, my God in Whom I trust.  Never be far from me, Lord.  Keep me as the apple of Your eye.  Hide me in the shadow of Your wings.  Protect my heart and lead me down paths of righteousness. In Jesus name, Amen.

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us, that Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.  May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You.  May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth.  May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You.  Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us.  God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear Him.  Psalm 67
