It seems that every day in many ways, I see double standards happening all around me right now. The ones shaming others for not masking, are themselves caught without wearing one. Those screaming about everyone being racist, using racist language and want to shame one race when that too is racist behavior. Politicians screaming about wealth distribution while living in mansions and everyone is wondering where all their money is coming from. Those that say, “My body, my choice” when it comes to abortion want to force masks and vaccinations on everyone. Those who demand equal rights want to close the doors of churches. It makes no sense, and it can begin to make you feel worn down unless you keep proper perspective.
Here is what is true, in God there is no confusion. God is not unbalanced and unfair. On the contrary He is just and a God of order.
When you begin to feel the pull of the stark hypocrisy and injustice what are you to do? These feelings and emotions are real. We must however, demonstrate that part of the fruit of the spirit that is hardest…self-control.
When the waves of insanity and injustice feel like they may just pull us under and cause us to drown, we must take hold of that which cannot be shaken…God.
Open your Bible and begin to read through Psalms and Proverbs and a whole new perspective will wash over you. Let’s take a look at these two verses:
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully. Proverbs 28:4-5
And this:
When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers, but a man of understanding and knowledge maintains order. Proverbs 28:2
Reading verses like this should begin to help you see clearly which side you want to partner with on an issue, or what your heart posture should be toward others. The battle lines are being clearly drawn right now, it’s not about political affiliation anymore, it’s about God verses the anti-Christ spirit.
You know, when you begin to open up the Bible and read, you discover a few things…God is always present…God is always good…Nothing is new, He’s seen this all before…Nothing surprises Him.
When I open my Bible, I discover hidden hope and promises that I can only take hold of if I search it out.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. Proverbs 25:2
Prayer Moment: God, You alone are just. In You alone do we find hope. Thank You for covering my heart. Thank You for leading me to the truth. Give me courage to walk out truth. Guard my mind from lies. I place my hope and trust firmly in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
