The Fountain Day 155: Plans

We can make plans, and God gives them success.  We are warned that our motives may not be as pure as we believe them to be.  But we are promised that if we commit our actions to God, we WILL succeed.

We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer.  People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives.  Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.  Proverbs 16:1-3

Commit all your actions to God…that’s the only way to move forward.

I have spent so much time weighing my heart, examining my motives, being afraid to move forward…yet, when I read the above scripture, I see that all I need to do is commit my actions to the Lord.  I may not be able to trust my own motives, but I can trust Him.  I can lay all my plans at His feet and trust that He will set fire to those I don’t need and fulfill those He desires for me.  It’s a win-win.

When we hold our plans with an open hand and allow God to pick and choose for us, then we will see a lot more success and will operate in far greater peace.

The longer I walk with God, the more I see that though I fear myself in many ways…my fear of God eclipses that and brings me into the promise.  Fear of the Lord…as we’ve recently discussed, is the beginning of wisdom.

Alignment, our whole lives are about this.  Bringing ourselves into alignment with God.  Bringing ourselves into alignment with His timing.  His timing is perfect.  His ways are always right.

When we have our minds focused on Him then our desires will be aligned with His…

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.  The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God.  Romans 8:5-8

This scripture also reminds us why those without Him hate us and Him so much.  Their minds are on death…abortion, domination, etc.  Therefore, their actions shouldn’t be surprising.  They also shouldn’t intimidate us as much as they do…we have the King of the universe inside.  We hold victory in our hearts.  What do we need to fear?  I asked this same question the other day…I continue to provoke you with it today.  We have nothing to fear.

“But now listen, O Jacob, My servant, Israel, whom I have chosen.  This is what the Lord says- He Who made you, Who formed you in the womb, and Who will help you:  Do not be afraid, O Jacob, My servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.  For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and My blessing on your descendants.  They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.”  Isaiah 44:1-4
