I held a coin in my hand…it was a quarter. This quarter carries the value of 25 cents. It will always equal 25 cents…no matter how old it becomes, even if it’s dirty, even if it fades…it will still be valued at 25 cents.
This is a great analogy for us…and our value.
We have value. It can’t be taken away, it will never decrease, and no matter what we do or how “dirty” we become we will carry the same value.
God gave us value when He chose to create each one of us. Before we were even conceived, He knew everything about us. He created each one of us on purpose. This indicates value.
It doesn’t matter if people approve or disapprove of you, it doesn’t change your value. It doesn’t matter if people see your potential or not, it doesn’t change your value. No matter what the world says, they can’t take away or add to our value. It remains the same…
What is your value?
I’m so glad you asked.
Beyond measure.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7
For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:13-16
As you face this day and the ones that follow, I encourage you to every day go to the Lord with the question, “Am I valuable?” Let His truth, the only truth pour over you and give you a firm foundation to live life from.
Far too many of us are trying to achieve a feeling of value based on works and how we are perceived by the world…we can’t live this way. We can’t look to other broken people to receive an honest picture of ourselves. Everyone is broken in some way…everyone has hurts and scars…everyone. This is why we can only receive the fullness of truth from God.
Tether yourself to that. Lean on that. Breathe it in and live free!
