I love thinking about the glory of God. I love the glory of His faithfulness. I love the glory of His unfailing love. I long for the day when I will behold the full glory of God in heaven. Even on my worst days, I love to remember His glory and that He is the One I’m looking forward to…He is my reward.
I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. The Lord said, “I have made a covenant with David, my chosen servant. I have sworn this oath to him: ‘I will establish your descendants as kings forever; they will sit on your throne from now until eternity.’” All heaven will praise your great wonders, Lord; myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness. For who in all of heaven can compare with the Lord? What mightiest angel is anything like the Lord? The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne. O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O Lord? You are entirely faithful. You rule the oceans. You subdue their storm-tossed waves. You crushed the great sea monster. You scattered your enemies with your mighty arm. The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; everything in the world is yours- you created it all. You created north and south. Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon praise your name. Powerful is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants. Psalm 89:1-14
Sometimes it’s so good to just boast about God. How great He is!!! He is so wonderful and righteous. His throne can never be taken or even threatened. When we are looking for something firm to count on, He is it. The only One Who can never be shaken…Never.
It’s so important to remember how mighty He is and how powerful. It’s so crucial to remember He did create all things. Out of nothing, He made the earth and every living thing.
Every creature in Heaven acknowledges His greatness!! They don’t wrestle Him for glory or even try to compare because He is so obviously great.
We would do good to remember this too. We never want to act like we have anything that He hasn’t given us. He is the Source. His glory is way more important than ours. When we truly know Him, we desire for His glory to eclipse all of our selfish agenda. Then, laid bare before Him, soaking in all that He is…we will find the fullness we’ve been searching for all this time.
He is the only One Who can make us full.
Lord, I lay before You today and simply ask for Your glory to fall around me. I know that in Your Presence is the only place I feel full. The world is empty and makes me feel emptier. But in Your Presence, I find fullness. Hold me in that place God. Hold me in Your arms. I belong to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
