While driving and talking to God the other day, I was thinking about my “small” ministry. I was about to have a “Six Month Journey of the Heart” meeting with a client…and suddenly I saw her as a stalk of wheat. The stalk was in my arm and suddenly it became a sheaf (bundle of stalks) and God spoke, “One stalk will become a sheaf.”
Suddenly, I knew God was showing me not to be distracted by how large or small the group is that I am ministering to, rather I’m to know that He is the God of multiplication. He will multiply the work I’m doing. And isn’t that what discipleship should lead to anyway? Shouldn’t those we lead, then go and lead others and on and on…it should go.
What a great reminder and powerful vision. It set a refreshed fire within my soul, and I am so grateful!
We should all remember that if we do all things unto God, then He will multiply them.
Wherever God’s presence is…there is always multiplication.
Don’t be afraid to invest in one person. One family. Whatever it is. Don’t be afraid of the small. In fact, we would all likely have a much larger impact if we’d stop seeing small investments as a waste of time. Nothing spent on the Kingdom is a waste. It’s always going to be multiplied.
Indeed, I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. Genesis 22:17
God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28
The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2
Over and over again, throughout scripture, you can see the laws of multiplication. When God blesses, He multiplies. When His presence is somewhere, there is always a multiplication of something. He doesn’t waste seed.
Instead of thinking, “I’m not doing anything,” simply do something. Invest in someone. Pray with whoever God leads you to pray with. Make an investment…an eternal investment…today and just watch what God will do with it.
He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him. Psalm 126:6
