Resurrection Day 282: Complete

Do you ever feel like things are never complete?

Meaning, there’s always something missing or another piece to place in the puzzle of life.  As if you can’t quite reach the fullness.  The precipice.

I do.

I feel my spirit constantly reaching toward God.  It’s a longing I don’t want to cease.

But there’s another longing I feel.  A constant yearning to walk in wisdom and knowledge and understanding.  I’ve written about it before, in a variety of ways.  I long for wisdom.  To see through what’s apparent and into what is real.  To see past the earth and into heaven.  To truly know.  Completely.

Do you also have this longing?

I came across this portion of Scripture, and it reignited this never dormant passion…

So, we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you.  We ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.  Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit.  All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.  We also pray that you will be strengthened with all His glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need.  May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father.  He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to His people who live in the light.  For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, Who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.  Colossians 1:9-14

We desire wisdom, knowledge, and understanding because it allows us to honor and please God.  It will bear all kinds of good fruit.  And in that wisdom, knowledge, and understanding we know God better.

Come on!

Who wouldn’t want that, right?!

Today I encourage you to press into God’s heart and pursue this wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as a way of knowing Him better.  It’s possible to attain a deeper measure of these things.

Ask Him for His glorious power to encompass you that you could have endurance and patience.  Ask Him to refill you with joy!  Thank God for His blessings and come to Him out of your love for Him and expect good things.  It’s ok to come to Him expectant.  Why wouldn’t we expect good gifts from a good Father.  It’s not wrong.

We love Him.  We serve Him.  We seek Him.  When we do, we undoubtedly walk in His favor and blessings.

This is the fruit of a life well spent.  Spent on Him.
