Resurrection Day 284: Covered

As we continue to speak on exposing, sometimes I wonder if any of you feel guilty about your own past or the sins in your life.

I know that I must remind myself constantly that I am born again.  My sins are forgiven.  The sins of my past, present and future are all covered by Jesus’ blood.  In advance, He has covered them.  The moment I received Him, I was redeemed.  You were too.  Covered forever.

I know it’s almost too much to comprehend, but it’s true.

We are covered.

There’s nothing else we need to do.  It.  Is.  Finished.

Let’s read together…

Christ is also the head of the church, which is His body.  He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead.  So, He is first in everything.  For God in all His fulness was pleased to live in Christ, and through Him God reconciled everything to Himself.  He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.  This includes you who were once far away from God.  You were His enemies, separated from Him by your evil thoughts and actions.  Yet now He has reconciled you to Himself through the death of Christ in His physical body.  As a result, He has brought you into his own presence, and You are holy and blameless as you stand before Him without a single fault.  But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it.  Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the God News.  Colossians 1:18-23a

We are covered once and for all time and now we only need to remember.  We must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly on it.

If we do, we might drift away from being assured.  When we lose assurance then we lose boldness.  When we forget, it doesn’t only affect us but also affects those we might have positively influenced if we did remember.

Today I challenge you to remember.  Remember the moment you were saved and how complete it was.  At the point of salvation, we carry an acute awareness of the fullness of Grace.  Sometimes we begin to forget.

Take some time to remember.  Remember your salvation story.  Share it with someone and let the words of your own testimony encourage you.

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.  Revelation 12:11
