Resurrection Day 320: By Faith

I sat to pray and was mulling over an ongoing situation that keeps popping up.  Someone’s journey that is almost daily a struggle.  Consistently bringing up opportunities for me to fret.  As I saw the storm, I once again desired to rise above…then I opened up my Bible reading for the day and this was what I saw…

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.  Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.  By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.  Hebrews 11:1-3

As I read the first few words and was transported to a place where I have true faith.  I saw myself rise above the storm of that person’s today and I saw it calmed, and I saw Jesus sitting next to that person.  His hand resting on their shoulder.  His presence, like a cloud, filling all the space around that person.

Then I was still.  Peaceful again because of my perspective.

I will continue to direct you all to this reality because we need it more often than we think.  We can have a heavenly perspective all the time, if we choose to have it.

I have stilled and quieted my soul…these words from Scripture constantly ring in my mind.

Being still…being peaceful…being faithful is an active, everyday choice.

It’s my choice.

Is it yours?

I’d rather be known for my peacefulness and faithfulness, than for always being in a tizzy.  Wouldn’t you?

By faith I walk into today and embrace everything God brings to me.  By faith I believe that the troubles of today won’t last forever.  By faith I believe that every person can be changed, regardless of age or current circumstance.  By faith I will take command over every fear and insecurity and know that God gives me everything I need.

By faith we can stand in agreement with heaven.

By faith we can see into heaven and believe God.

Open the eyes of faith in each one of us God.  Open wide our eyes to see all that You are doing around us, within us, and through us.  Open our eyes.  Let us see what cannot be seen with earthly eyes.   Open the eyes of our hearts, so we can see You, God.

If everything we now see, came from that which could not be seen, then what can we not have faith for today?  Believing in that which we have not yet seen…that’s how I choose to live.
