Resurrection Day 365: Get Ready to Sing a New Song

One year is ending and a new one looms on the horizon, and I hear heaven singing over us, “Get ready to sing a new song!”

Now is the time to release what was and reach out with open hands for what is to come.

Now is the time to take a moment to listen…let God speak to you about 2025.

It’s time to write the last pages in 2024 and let it go. Close the book. Pick up the new one and move forward.

Stretch your hands toward heaven and begin to sing a new song.

Many people become obsessed with New Years resolutions, but I’d rather focus on the new word.

I’d rather ask, “God, what do You say about this coming year?”

Instead of focusing on what I’m giving up, I’d rather focus on what He’s going to do.

So, today I encourage you to take some time to close out the last year…lay it to rest…then look toward heaven and ask God about the year to come.

As we’ve been learning to face so many things with intentionality, let’s now face the new year in that same way.

Intentionally look to God.

Intentionally ask for His direction.

Intentionally focus on what is good and right, leaving all else behind.

Intentionally focus on the new thing He is doing.

Be intentional.

If there was one word that I’d want to leave you with it’s that…

Intentional.

If the whole church became intentional, we’d change the world.

So, let’s begin with ourselves, our marriages, our homes…and watch the ripple effects happen all around us.

Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for Him. The Lord has made His salvation known and revealed His righteousness to the nations. He has remembered His love and His faithfulness to Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn- shout for joy before the Lord, the King. Psalm 98:1-6
