Today I was thinking about walking up the steep hill we live on. I saw myself walking and feeling the burn in my thighs as I trudge up, up, up, all the while feeling the sun beating down on my face as sweat forms like little beads and then drips down my forehead. Then I saw myself reaching the top, and looking out across the landscape….this is the part that makes the tiresome journey worthwhile. Many of us will face obstacles if we know it will be worth it in the end. We do it for the prize, so to speak.
Right now, I feel as if I’m climbing a mountain. I don’t know how long it will take or where it will lead, but I know that when I reach the summit, beauty will be all around me. As a matter of fact, if I will take a moment, I will see beauty throughout the entire journey.
This is part of what I’m learning. To enjoy the journey. To find the beauty of each day. To embrace every moment, every circumstance. To find God in every day.
Every day, especially right now, I find myself walking straight into the Presence of the Lord. I don’t always know when it will happen, but I will suddenly feel wrapped in Him. I really believe this happens for most of us every day, we just might have not noticed it before.
So, while I continue to press on, walking out what faith looks like I am ever mindful that He is with me. I know that I know that I know, this will all be worth it.
In some areas God is closing doors and I’m saying goodbye, but at the same time He is opening new doors. One cool thing about this part of life is something I didn’t expect though, He is also resurrecting some things that have laid dormant for many years. That’s so exciting to me! It’s His resurrection power over our lives that is so unique and special. It is a constant reminder of Who He is and that He knows and cares for every detail of our lives.
God, thank You for creating a journey for me to walk out. I love You Abba. You make my paths smooth and You alone restore my soul. Thank You for blessing my life. Your love is where I find my abundance. You fullness is where I find my prosperity. It is in You that I live and breathe. It is in Your Presence that I find meaning.
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. Proverbs 3:5-7
For in Him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’ Acts 17:28
