There is no striving in Your love, God.
The opposite of striving is receiving. There is no striving in the Lord, yet I continually find my heart in the striving position. I am regularly needing to remind myself to stop striving and simply start receiving. God can do way more for me and through me when I keep my heart and mind in a position of receiving.
Think of it this way, it’s impossible to hand a person a gift that they can hold, if their hands are clenched in fists. No, when someone hands us something, part of the gesture we use is to open our hands. It’s the same with God. We must keep ourselves in an open-handed position. Then He can give….and take away as He needs to.
Do you struggle with striving? Do you struggle to believe that God would want to be good to you? If so, I pray you receive that revelation today. Now is the time to have your eyes opened to the loving nature of the Father. He longs to give good gifts to His children. If you have asked Jesus into your heart, then you are grafted into His family. You are a child of God and a co-heir with Christ. That gives you access. Access to the Father, as a loving Daddy. Full access to Jesus. Unlimited access to Holy Spirit.
Does a child in a healthy parent-child relationship feel they need to strive for every single thing? No, if the relationship is healthy, then the child will be comfortable approaching their father because there’s been a history of favor. A history of needs fulfilled. That’s how we can approach our heavenly Father too.
Right now, as we’ve been waiting and praying, I have been repeatedly bringing into my remembrance, all the times in my life when God has provided blessing and breakthrough. When I take a moment to call to mind His past faithfulness, then I am more able to cope with the day to day ups and downs. I can approach disappointment with the knowledge that He has come through in the past and He will continue to come through for me in the future.
That’s the God I know. That’s my Father. I can expect His nature to come through in every instance. His nature is generous, loving, kind and faithful. He is Who He says He is.
Today, I challenge you to do this physical act as a prophetic declaration of your hearts position:
Kneel down on the ground and place your hands in front of you, palm up and say, “God, I will no longer strive to attain Your love. Instead, I receive it freely.” Feel your heart and spirit release the burden of striving. I bless you in Jesus name, and pray He will continually shine His favor upon you.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, Who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all He created. James 1:17-18
Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10
