Day 238: From a Trickle to a Roar (August 26)

Have you ever been in love?  Do you know those feelings of being so in love with someone that when you are together time seems to stand still, the rest of the world fades away, and you feel that everything will always be ok.  Have you felt so secure in someone’s love for you that your confidence in yourself boosts and you feel there’s nothing you can’t do?  Have you spent hours getting to know a person, only to discover a deeper love through each moment?  I have.  I still am in that love.

That’s how love with Abba can be.  When you cultivate that relationship in the secret place there is no end to the depths you can go within His heart.  I love Abba.  More than anyone or anything in the world.  I crave time with Him.  I look for Him everywhere I go.  I hear Him speaking all the time, and in many different ways.  I am totally in love.  Are you?

Have you laid aside self-condemnation and doubt and really given yourself fully to a love relationship with Him?  If not, He is waiting.  Everything about Abba is an invitation.  His Presence invites us.  His love paves the way.  His kindness draws us.  His gentleness encourages us.  He is love, remember?  So why not give yourself fully to Love.

Recently, my youngest daughter was watching the movie “The Pirate Fairy”.  In that movie they show how all the yellow pixie dust is made from using a tiny bit of blue dust poured into a certain tree and then it multiplies itself and makes large amounts of yellow pixie dust, so the fairies can fly.  They always say, “From a trickle to a roar” as it begins to rapidly pour from a spout on the tree.  When I was running this morning, I saw this scene from the movie playing in my mind, but God was showing me this is a lot like His spirit combining with our spirits and pouring out from within us!

This morning as you head out to church, ask God to pour His Spirit into you and multiply over your spirit to pour out from within you into the body.  You are created to offer something to the body of Christ.  You are valuable and necessary to His work here on earth.  We are able to love others only after first receiving His love.  So, receive it, and then go share it with His body today.  Take the love He pours over you and watch as it multiplies in your heart.  It will cloud out all discontent and judgment, and allow you to be a more fully functioning member of the body of Christ.  Then watch with awe and wonder as your heart swells with love for all mankind.  The love of Christ multiplies itself in the most beautiful ways.  It’s our privilege and honor to receive it and then give it.  Thank You God for Your powerful, chain breaking, bridge building love.

Give thanks to the God of heaven, for His steadfast love endures forever.  Psalm 136:26

But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.  Psalm 86:15

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty One Who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.  Zephaniah 3:17
