Yesterday, I had a vision of myself. I was standing with a bunch of coats on, one layered on top of the other. Suddenly, I knew the coats represented many layers of the fear of man that cloak my life. I have walked through so many “layer removals” already, but God was showing me that we’ve only just begun to walk out the freedom of the fear of man.
That may sound like a depressing word, but honestly it brought a lot of peace and freedom. The reason is, I had been asking God why I wasn’t having breakthroughs in some very specific areas, this was His answer. It gave me hope. Hope that He knows exactly what I’m struggling with, and is being patient with me, and that He has every intention of walking this all the way with me. What a good, good Father.
I don’t know what you struggle with, but I do know that most things we struggle with have “layers”, and the only way to remove them is to first acknowledge this and second to give the Father full access.
Today, that is my message. Do you have layers of fear or doubt or anger weighing you down? It’s not too late. Today could be the first day. Imagine a life that’s lighter because God is removing what is weighing you down.
I encourage you to go before the Father and ask Him to show you if you need this freedom of which I speak. Let His light shine down upon you as His tender touch points out any wounds.
Lord, today I stand before you. I want to walk in the nakedness we were intended in the garden. I no longer want to cover up with layers of self-protection and fear. You are my safety. I will no longer walk in agreement with fear. Lord, if there are walls within my heart or mind that stand between me and knowing You more, tear them down! In Jesus name, tear them down! I will not rest while any barrier stands between me and the One I love. I am Yours, not in part, but fully. Fully surrendered to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
