For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless, O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You. Psalm 84:11-12
Many times, especially right now, it can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our best days are behind us, but that is simply not true. Our best is yet to come!
You may not believe this, but right after I typed the above, I received a phone call about a HUGE breakthrough for our family! As I listened, my eyes got tears in them and I marveled at God’s faithfulness to work behind the scenes on our behalf. I also marveled at the way He’s given us favor with the “right” people, who know about these good opportunities and fight for them with/for us. What a mighty God I serve. As I spoke with the person, I had already forgotten what I had typed above and after I finished telling my husband the good news, I looked back at my computer, and there is was….Good things are coming! In a sacred moment of reverence, we sat shocked and amazed at how our Father loves us. Then I looked at my Bible sitting next to me and these words were facing me and had been previously underlined.
Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before Him and prepares the way for His steps. Psalm 85:10-13
If you are feeling defeated or forsaken, don’t. Our God is working it all out. He’s on the move. This is a move. God has His hand on ever single detail and He.Will.Not.Fail. He can’t fail, it’s not Who He is.
Prayer Moment: God, You amaze me. I honor and praise You for Your great faithfulness. I thank You that during a time when the world says, “We’ve seen the last of our best days.” You show up with the truth. The best is yet to come! Thank You Abba. I long for You in the deepest places of my soul. I now see the key to peace and faithfulness is to simply continue walking out life at the pace You set for me, all the while trusting You to work out every detail when I need it to happen. You have never let me down, and You never will. My God is faithful. I adore You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You. Blessed are those whose strength is in You, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion. Hear my prayer, O Lord God Almighty; listen to me, O God of Jacob. Look upon our shield, O God; look with favor on your anointed one. Psalm 84:4-9
