I see myself looking at a cloud of fog before me, and all I could see at first was a reflection of myself. Like an echo of the fear inside. As I pressed forward in this thought, I squinted my eyes a bit and then I began to see a set of red eyes. Those eyes of intimidation seem to say, “How dare you press forward!” So, I step back and focus on what’s further, beyond myself and the intimidation. On the other side of the fog, I begin to see a Holy white light. This is the opposite of fog, it’s the clarity of all clarity. It’s something so far beyond clear that it is Holiness. And I have learned this is where the Father resides.
As many of us are feeling the weightiness of the fog all around us right now, it’s so important to remember that God is not hazy. He is clear. Clarity. In Him there is no confusion or randomness. Our God is very deliberate and has planned for everything.
Our God has seen the beginning and the end, so we can absolutely and without hesitation, trust Him to guide us through anything.
I am telling you this firmly, if you feel out of control or consumed by all that you can’t fathom the outcome of right now, it’s time to take a step back and reset your focus to see beyond the fog. It’s time to ask God to give you eyes to see how He sees. 20/20 vision is what we need. Full clarity.
If we try to navigate this season apart from a close walk with Jesus, we will struggle to make it through. But take heart! Our God is a loving and patient Father Who is not only willing to walk with you, but He desires to walk with you.
Prayer Moment: I encourage you to take a little extra time today to reset your focus on the Father. Ask God to tune your ears to hear His voice. Ask God to set your heart to His tempo, and not the tempo of panic. The Father is always willing to partner with our lives, but we must take these moments to allow Him the access. Will you give Him this place in your life today? Will you turn away from the fear and manipulation that is so prevalent in the world today? Will you give Him the throne of your heart? He is near. God is with us.
By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people. Exodus 13:21-22
The Lord fights for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14
I lift up my eyes to You, to You whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till He shows us His mercy. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant. Psalm 123
