It’s the middle of the night, 3:36 a.m., to be exact. I’m up and alert and decided it was time to do some writing. I don’t often just flip open my Bible, but tonight I did and this is literally the first thing I flipped to…
The Lord appeared to him that night and said: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a temple for sacrifices. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among My people. If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that My Name may be there forever. My eyes and My heart will always be there. 2 Chronicles 7:12-16
I am aware that some of the words of this verse may feel like a platitude, as we discussed yesterday. But it doesn’t take away the awesome weight that they do carry.
Right now, I wanted to draw your attention to the first part…Did you notice that it states as a fact that God, Himself would cause it not to rain and He would command locusts to devour the land. I just wanted to remind you of two things: God tells us repeatedly through scripture that bad things will happen while we live on this earth and He is always somewhere in the mix of it.
He uses these things for His purposes, remember?
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
What if we’ve been allowed to come to this very season, so that the church would wake up from its slumber? What if God wanted to remind the church that they are not called to be weak and passive, but more than conquerors?
One of the most shocking things of this hour, for me, has been the fact that much of the church has no backbone and definitely lacks in having faith for an extended amount of time.
Come on church! Let’s get into shape!! God has blessed us abundantly, especially if you live in America. The freedoms which we have grown up with are abundant! We have had so much opportunity. Wake up before it’s too late! It’s time to fight. Fight for the promise. Fight against the anti-Christ agenda. Fight for freedom!
It’s not always a season of peace. There is a time for war. This is that time. We are in a war, whether we acknowledge it or not. It’s come to our doorstep. This is the time. Stand upon God’s promises for America. Pray without ceasing. Repent for the sins of our people. Believe for miracles. We WILL see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Prayer Moment: God, I stand in the gap for all Americans and I ask Your forgiveness. God, we have shed innocent blood. We have worshiped other gods. We have mocked You and allowed You to be mocked. Please forgive us. Forgive us for allowing the enemy to come among us. You are our only hope. We turn our eyes toward heaven and cry out, “Abba!!”. Come and rescue us from those who seek to destroy us from within. We are Your people. Your remnant is here. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
