There is something powerful about verbal agreement. There is also something powerful about verbal disagreement. What do I mean?
Well, have you ever come at someone in anger, only to have them laugh at you? It’s rather disarming isn’t it?
When dealing with a spiritual battle we are often to come against the enemy with an opposite spirit. Is he coming at you with fear? Then, your greatest weapon is to walk in peace. Is he coming at you with lies and deception? Then come at him with truth. Is he trying to make you feel threatened by the lies? Then LAUGH IN HIS FACE!
They say that laughter is good medicine, I say that laughter is a good weapon.
Those who have watched me lead worship very often, may notice that I frequently burst out in a short laugh. Those are powerful moments. At times, I do that because the enemy has just tried to intimidate me. Other times, it’s just a bubbling up of joy from inside. Either way, I know it is a power punch into the gut of the enemy and I revel in it each and every time.
Today is brief, but today is powerful. Today I admonish you to search your heart and mind for any and all lies that the enemy has tricked you into believing, or that he is attempting to trick you with, and then speak it out loud and then laugh at it. This may feel weird at first, but I promise, if you will continually practice this you will find such power and authority in it…and you just might stumble upon some joy in the process.
The joy of the Lord is our strength, remember?!
Go laugh in the face of the liar!
Prayer Moment: God, I ask You now to bring to mind all the lies that You would have me laugh at today. Give me courage to speak the lies out loud, then give me courage to laugh at them. You are my strength. I will trust in You with all my heart. I love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
