The Fountain Day 175: Framework

As I sat down and was about to ask God what He wanted to say in this devotional…even before I was able to ask the question…God spoke “framework”.  It was so clear that I couldn’t deny it.  So, I leaned in and asked, “What are You saying?”  This is what I heard…

In this season, as I’ve mentioned before, God has been detoxing us from the world and its systems…now, He’s beginning to build a new framework for our family.  As that framework is in its beginning stages, I know for certain…

Unless the Lord builds this house, the builders labor in vain.  Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.  In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat- for He grants sleep to those He loves.  Psalm 127:1-2

Now, more than ever, I am being super intentional in our plan and design for family.  What will our days look like?  What will they be filled with?  God took so much care to empty out our days, I wouldn’t dare fill them now carelessly.  In this moment our family has a rare opportunity to begin again, so to speak…

Guess what?

So do you.

Maybe you’re not in the same circumstances that we are, but you did walk through all the covid junk, and one thing God did during that time, was offer a reset.  The enemy brought around something to try and destroy and control…but what really happened was a great awakening and an opportunity for families to make changes more easily.  Yes, covid’s been over for a while, but we’re still in a sort of grace period where change feels easier.  Am I wrong?  It sure feels like we’re more malleable still…

Why not take this forced disruption, and turn it into a unique opportunity?!

Let go of life as you know it and ask God for His heart.  What does He desire for your family?  What purpose did He have when He put you with your spouse and created your children?  I believe that not only does each person have a special calling for their lives, but also each family group has its own unique calling.  Why did God construct your family?  Have you ever asked Him?

Today is a good day to lean into His heart for your family.

God, I surrender my family to Your hands.  Guide and direct our path.  Show me for what purpose You have created our family.  We belong to You.  You are the great Carpenter, we place the framework of our home in Your hands.  Make us as You will.  Let Your dreams for us, become our dreams.  We love You.  In Jesus’ name, amen.

Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.  People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.  Proverbs 19:2-3

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.  And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.  Romans 5:1-2
