The Fountain Day 209: His Spirit joins our spirit

Let’s begin today with some powerful scripture…

So, you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves.  Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children.  Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.”  For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.  And since we are His children, we are His heirs.  In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.  But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering.  Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later.  For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who His children really are.  Romans 8:15-19

Wow, this is amazing!! And is so full of promise and hope.  I love how it says, “His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.”  That precious gift of Holy Spirit.  What a sweet promise He is to our lives.  When we receive Jesus into our hearts, we also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The same Holy Spirit that gave the apostles such courage, boldness, and wisdom.  The same Holy Spirit Jesus promised to release into the earth upon His ascension into Heaven.

Oh sweet, sweet Jesus.  Oh, Holy Spirit, my best Friend.  I wouldn’t want to live life without You.

Take a moment today to enjoy the wonder of what we received when we asked Jesus to be Lord of our lives.  What a unique and wonderful privilege!!  What a mystery it is to acknowledge the fact that now we are co-heirs with Christ.  I am constantly humbled by the wonder and glory of God.

I hope that you will re-read the above scripture and truly receive what God is revealing.

Far too many of us don’t realize what our true position is and therefore, we give away portions of our inheritance and even authority.  We were designed to advance the Kingdom of Heaven on the earth…not to be bullied into submission to the prince of the earth.  The devil is not over us…even thought he’d like for us to believe that he is, he isn’t.

Imagine yourself now, stepping into your God given heavenly authority.  Imagine your foot stepping over the line you’ve been held captive behind and moving in the Spirit.  His Spirit.  The same Spirit that joins with your spirit when you’re saved.  It’s just so much to comprehend!

I challenge each of you to approach this day recognizing the position you’ve now been given.  Adopted as God’s child.  Joined with His Spirit.  A co-heir with Christ.  One who shares in His glory.  One who shares in temporary suffering…to receive the fullness of His glory.

All of creation is eagerly awaiting the future day when God will reveal us as His children!!!

Now that is a way to start the day.  Fully encouraged, by the fullness of the promise!
