Faith is the doorway to a life lived with Christ.
It is by grace we have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
We must have faith.
Before the gift of Christ, taking our sinners death for us…the law led the way, but the purpose of the law was this…
Why, then, was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to last only until the coming of the child who was promised. God gave His law through angels to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the people. Galatians 3:19
The law is impossible to keep…every time I read through it, I can’t believe how overwhelming it is. Faith is the only way…but oddly enough, faith seems harder to many than the law. The law seems tangible. It gives steady goalposts for success, and seems like the easy route…but is it really?
The law is impossible.
Faith. Faith is the only way. It’s the thing that shows our utter dependence upon a Savior. It levels the playing field, and we are all suddenly reaching out from the same place.
Faith. It’s a mystery to most because scripture also tells us that we are each given a measure of faith. This is mind boggling. We must have faith to accept Christ, but He is also the One Who portions out faith to each of us. Wow. How utterly mind boggling.
It is because of this and many other reasons that people instead accept Christ in faith, then transfer all their trust to religion. Forsaking faith, they attempt to walk out their Christian life in the scope of doing…not having.
Have faith. Be at rest in it.
I have noticed that any place that the enemy is present…any time the anti-Christ spirit is roaming…there are a LOT of laws. Faith disarms the law.
Why the law? Because the enemy is desperate for control. The same thing that drove him from heaven, drives him still. An utter desperation to be in control. Therefore, he comes manipulating his followers to put out one law after another. Are you sober minded yet? Do you see what I’m trying to display?
We were meant to live freely. America was set apart as a bastion of freedom. Representing something that none had seen before. Giving people more freedom led to more success and greater prosperity. Less governmental control and more independent thinking…this worked originally, because we were soundly founded upon Christian morals. Every place where we strayed from that has become a place of new laws and restrictions…less freedom.
It’s an awe-inspiring parallel of the life lived through faith and that dependent upon works (keeping the law).
Our Savior is here. Awake, O bride of Christ!! Live out the freedom He so painfully died to give you. You are not bound by the earth and man’s laws. You are married to God. Part of His bride. You are afforded great freedom…let’s live like free men/women.
