When I relayed the last two devotional thoughts with my husband, he dropped another truth on me…
God’s opinion of you is nobody else’s business.
Again, I was stunned. It is so true.
I don’t need to convince others about what God has said about me. I don’t need others approval to begin transforming into the person God created me to be. I don’t need anyone’s permission to be who God wants me to be and to do the things He has set apart for me to complete.
God’s opinion of me is nobody’s business.
With this knowledge I felt the final arrow added to the quiver and began using the darts the enemy tried to defeat me with as a weapon to destroy him. What a victory!!!
The Word of the Lord stands firm. It’s unshakeable and nobody gets to add or take away from it.
We do want to caution our hearts though…because I believe many broadcast what God speaks about them because what can begin as awe, turns into an arrogance and a “of course He’d have big plans for me or my child because we’re more special than anyone else.”
If you truly believe the words God speaks over you, then you will have restraint to hold them close…not casting your pearls before swine. There are moments to share, and others to hold things in your heart.
God’s opinion of you is nobody else’s business.
Let it sink in. Breathe in the fragrance of this truth. His word is final.
God, forgive me for anytime that I have cast my pearls before swine. Forgive me for any time that I shared Your words over me out of arrogance and pride. Make me secure in You. Set my feet upon Your rock and my mind upon Your thoughts alone. I adore You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give. Proverbs 25:14
The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them. My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only He will release my feet from the snare. Psalm 25:14-15
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” Isaiah 60:1
