As a counterpart to yesterday’s devotional, I wanted to also remind you that He knows your voice too.
In the vision I described yesterday, I was also reminded of how well He knows our voices. I saw a parent and a crowd of people, when their child called for them, they heard it above all the other noise. Parent’s ears are tuned to their children’s sounds.
I know that no matter how many people I’m around and how much noise they are making, I will hear my children call for me. Each of them has a unique sound and each of them is connected to my heart, so not only do I respond to their sounds, I can also feel when something is wrong or if I am needed.
It’s a connection of the heart.
In the same way, our Creator knows each of our voices. Our Heavenly Father, Who crafted each of us in the secret place, knows and responds to our sounds. Our joys, cries for help, calls for mercy, etc. He knows each voice and in a way that only God could, He can distinguish every single voice on earth from one another. Oh, the wonder of an infinite God! Isn’t He amazing?!
I remind you of this so that you never fear Him not hearing you. Does He always respond in the way you think He will? No. But He does always hear. Sometimes His responses are so different from what we expect that we don’t realize it is Him. That’s something to always remember. Don’t let God get a bad reputation in your heart because you don’t always recognize His way of responding. Instead, when you ask Him something, next ask Him to help you recognize when He responds to you. Thank Him in advance, as an act of trust, for responding.
Our God hears us. He loves to interact with each one of us. We simply need to trust that He hears every word we speak to Him.
Prayer Moment: God, thank You for always listening to me. I am so grateful that You never grow weary of me. In this world where friends come and go, I am so grateful that You are my constant Companion. Help me to always recognize Your voice above all the other noise. I love You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2
In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears. Psalm 18:6
