The Fountain Day 336: Priceless inheritance

Today, I invite you into an encounter with the Word of God.  It’s so good to allow the Truth to fall upon you…like gentle snowflakes, it falls and covers us.  The Word of God brings life and gives renewed focus and excitement.  It reminds us why we are doing this thing called life.  Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you.

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and His Spirit has made you holy.   As a result, you have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ.  May God give you more and more grace and peace.  All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  It is by His great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.  Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance- an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.  And through your faith, God is protecting you by His power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.  So be truly glad.  There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.  These trials will show that your faith is genuine.  It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold- though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.  So, when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.  You love Him even though you have never seen Him.  Though you do not see Him now, you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.  The reward for trusting Him will be the salvation of your souls.  1 Peter 1:2-9

We must never forget that we were chosen.  We were chosen before the foundations of the earth, to be His.  What a privilege!  What better reason do we need to spend our entire lives serving and worshiping Him?!

When we consider what we will do with our lives, or what we will say, or how we will invest our time…it should always be lit by the light of eternity.  We live our lives from salvation and for Jesus.  He is our reward.

People can give you many reasons to veer from the path of righteousness, but when we stay to the narrow road, we are only staying within who He has made us, through the covering of His blood.  We are alive.  We are set apart.  We are a royal priesthood, a holy nation.  We are who He says we are…we are no longer of this world.  We belong to Him.

Is your life truly given to Him?

This is a provoking question.  But it’s a real question.  If you were to look at the last few years of your life, how much do you see Jesus?

Honest assessments of our walk through life, lead to deeper growth, and often the beautiful revelation that His grace has been poured out over us immensely.

Seek Him and you will find Him.
